Valentine’s Day: let’s celebrate anyway!
Every February 14th, whether you like it not, people celebrate Valentine’s Day. It all started many years ago in Ancient Rome, but we are not going to get into that. Let’s talk about what this particular date means.
Valentine’s Day: mixed feelings or pure joy?
For those lucky couples, it is a very special day. It is the one day of the year to celebrate love. Love for the person with whom you decide to share your life. Or it can even be the only day of the year where you display your affection without holding back.
On the other hand, for those who are alone, this day is also just as special. For some, it is a reminder of their loneliness. However, there are also those loners who see this day as a way of giving themselves a special pampering. This affection doesn’t come from a lover or a friend, but from themselves.
Make the day count!
Whatever your situation, alone or accompanied, we can all agree that we like to receive love. Therefore, let’s change the meaning of this day. If you have a partner, do not see Valentine’s Day as an obligation to give her something. Make it an opprtinity to do for another what you don’t usually do. If you are alone, revert the meaning to this February 14th and make it the day for you. That day in which you will give all the love to yourself. The love you sometimes forget you already have. Why? Why is not the question.
